The lightweight modular masonry construction makes installation simple, fast and easy. The SmartFire™ can be placed on compacted soil, gravel and concrete*.
Finish off your SmartFire™ with stone, stucco, brick, or heat resistant paint or stain. Inside of the firebox, you can install firebrick of your choosing. Also available from Burntech are the Burntech Firebrick Liner kits available in herringbone and standard runningbond patterns.
As with all Burntech Modular Masonry Products, the Burntech SmartFire™ is covered by our Lifetime Limited Warranty**.

Burntech Smart Fire Outdoor Fireplace FAQ’s
Q: Can the Smart Fire be installed indoors?
A: NO! The Smart Fire is for outdoor use only.
Q: What material can I use to complete the exterior of my Smart Fire?
A: The Smart Fire may be covered with stucco, stone, brick or tile. You may also use noncombustible stain or paint.
Q: How far away does the Smart Fire need to be from homes, patio covers, trees, etc.?
A: Smart Fire must be a minimum of 15’ clear to any combustible materials. Local regulations may be different, so contact your local building department prior to installation.
Q: Can I burn wood and/or gas?
A: The Smart Fire is designed for wood burning however gas may be used when the Smart Fire is placed on a concrete pad with a properly installed gas line. Use only vented gas logs with 30,000 or less BTU’s. Contact your local building department for specific requirements.
Q: Does the Smart Fire require brick inside of the firebox?
A: Yes, you must use firebrick on the inside of your Smart Fire to ensure longevity and safety. Burntech also offers brick panels for EZ installation (sold separately).
Q: Can I install the Smart Fire inside of framing?
A: No!The Smart Fire is designed to be free standing only.
Q: What are the foundation requirements?
A: We suggest that the Smart Fire be installed on concrete with a minimum thickness of 4”. The Smart Fire can also be installed on a level and compacted noncombustible surface such as gravel or soil.
Q: Can I apply a wood mantel or any other combustible material directly onto the Smart Fire?
A: No, combustible material cannot touch the fireplace.
Q: Can I add height to the Smart Fire?
A: Yes, Height Extension Kits are available from Burntech (sold separately).
Q: Do Burntech fireplaces require a permit?
A: Most installations do not require a permit for the Smart Fire as it is a garden style fireplace. Contact your local building department for specific requirements.
Q: Do Burntech fireplaces have a Warranty?
A: All of Burntech’s Modular Masonry Fireplaces carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty. |
