Burntech See-Through Fireplace FAQ’s

Q: Can Burntech See-Through Fireplaces Burn Wood?
A: Burntech fireplaces are designed for burning gas and wood.  However, certain cities require using gas only.  Contact your local building department for specific installations.  Use only vented gas logs with 50,000-100,000 BTU’s.

Q: What is the framing clearance to combustible materials?
A: Burntech fireplaces cannot have direct contact with any type of combustible material.  Framing clearances of 2” are required. Refer to the Burntech installation guide for more specific information. 

Q: Does my Burntech See-Through fireplace require a damper?
A: For indoor fireplaces a damper is always recommended. For outdoor fireplaces a damper is not necessary.

Q: What type of chimney is required on the Burntech See-Through Fireplace?
A: For indoor use, use only “Class A Metal Flue”. For outdoor installations, the Burntech masonry chimney is recommended up to 6 feet in height.  

Q: Does the Burntech See-Through Fireplace require a special foundation?
A: Most Burntech See Through fireplaces can be installed on a 6” concrete slab for outdoor living applications in southern California.  Still, always confirm depth with your local building department prior to installation.
 
Q: Do Burntech See-Through Fireplaces require an exhaust fan?
A: We recommend the use of an exhaust fan on most Indoor See-Through applications to ensure proper drafting.

Q: Do Burntech fireplaces have a Warranty?
A: All of Burntech’s Modular Masonry Fireplaces carry a Limited Lifetime Warranty.
